Plasma Enhanced Aluminum Furnaces

In addition to fitting the plasma device to any existing melting or holding furnaces, new low-footprint melters can be fabricated.  As an example, a new type of aluminum melting operation is described below.

Several of the same energy, dross and environment benefits may also be realized in any existing furnace (i.e. a hybrid operation) when a plasma generating product is attached to it.

Plasma Aluminum Melting Furnace

Typical melter shown in sprue melting configuration. Three 6kW plasma devices are shown in the picture. With these devices a very small foot print continuous furnace can be built as shown or the units may be added to an existing holding furnaces or launder to improve the dross-loss and simultaneously achieve higher production rates.
